The Kaptai Upazila Shilpakala Academy of Rangamati organized a dance program “Nupur Nikkan” on Sunday (May 15) at 4 pm at the Kaptai Upazila Parishad auditorium with the participation of more than 100 dancers. The audience was mesmerized by the creative, folk, modern, fusion, modern and Bharat Natyam performances conducted by Sangeeta Datta Annie, dance instructor of the Upazila Shilpakala Academy.
Rangamati Zilla Parishad member Diptimoy Talukder inaugurated the dance show as the chief guest. Lt. Commander Rakibul Hasan Sarkar, Principal of Kaptai Naval School and College, M Jahangir Alam, music instructor of Chittagong Shilpakala Academy, Mostafa Kamal and Shilpi were present on the occasion as special guests. And journalist, permanent member of Chittagong Press Club Faruk Taher, playwright and instructor Jobaidur Rashid, artist Pradyut Majumder, Sanjit Roy, musician Shreyasi Roy, reciter Jolly Chowdhury, tabla player Sudeb Das, Surjit Sen, Chittagong Shilpakalas office manager Mohammad.
Welcoming remarks were made by Jaisim Barua, Headmaster of Barichhari Karnafuli Nurul Huda Kaderi High School and Convener of Dance Festival Celebration Committee. Joint convener of the dance festival celebration committee Lucky Tanchangya, member secretary Nur Begum Mita, joint secretary of Upazila Shilpakala Academy Mangsuipru Marma, member Bablu Biswas Amit and other members of the committee were present.
